Matatu Culture

Kenya is notoriously known as having careless and rude matatu operators. But nevertheless there is a matatu  culture with a big attitude. Matatus either 14 seater and above are renowned for their pimped out interior and exterior. Some even having 'hater' plasma screens behind them for peeps in other vehicle to watch. They are souped up with curves, graffiti, megabass and cool lightings(even underneath the vehicle and the rims) This speaks volume as you are rated with what kind of matatu your hood has. Cool mats(matatu) are known to have a large youth following who will wait patiently for it to arrive regardless of where they are stranded.

Lest i forget the funny, educative and rude messages inside the mat like "no phone calls allowed, only sms"

or "kama sauti ni kubwa, umezeeka basi" loosely translated that "if you think the volume is too high, then you are old"...there lots of stuff to write about.....to be continued
